Second Blogaversary! [100 Screenshots]

WOW! I’ve been writing this legacy blog for two years now! I posted the first chapter on November 22nd, 2014- and I was hopeful that I might even make it through generation 3 before giving up. And now the generation five heir is almost an elder, and his children are both teenagers! I don’t see myself stopping any time soon, and in honor of not giving up I took a look back through all my uploaded screenshots and chose 100 of my favorite moments or screenshots. There are no words beyond this point- just memories!

Thank you SO much for reading and for making this so much more than I ever envisioned. This family, and you (my reader family!) are so important to me now. I can’t imagine my life had I not started this and met all of you.

The Waites Are Moving!

First of all, there will be a NEW blog address where the second half of this legacy will be posted. So to keep reading please be sure to follow the new blog. I was running out of space on this blog, and it was easier to make a second blog than to go back and edit all of the screenshot file sizes for every screenshot on this blog.

waitelegacy

All of the existing chapters will remain on this blog, but BOTH blogs will have complete Table of Contents pages.

Secondly, I am saying to heck with one of Pinstar’s legacy rules and I am moving the Waite Family to the largest lot possible in the game right now- in Windenburg! Yes, THAT’S RIGHT. I’m breaking a huge rule- but they really do need the largest lot, AND I’m sure that Pinstar won’t mind that much considering that had I started my legacy after Get Together the lot I would have chosen would have been the Windenburg lot. SO- that’s that.

Prepare to follow the Waite family to their new home!

[AUTHOR’S NOTE: Ok, so the reason this chapter has no words is because I can’t find the words. I don’t think I’m supposed to find the words. Julius had a difficult confrontation with Leah, and a couple days later I found him autonomously doing yoga and meditating so I took screenshots. I had intended to just capture the memory of him being so mindful autonomously, but I fell in love with the screenshots and I wanted to share them.]

Chapter 5.54: The Stranger

09-07-16_12-03-30-am

“Welcome home, beautiful,” Dexter greeted his wife lovingly.

She smiled warmly at him. “Well hello there, handsome stranger,” she teased.

Dexter felt his face flushing, nervous like he was the first time he asked Sasha on a date. Maybe it was Sasha, or maybe it was the idea of being out in public for longer than necessary. Regardless, Sasha picked up on the additional rose hues climbing up from his neck to his cheeks.

“Cat got your tongue?” She asked flirtatiously.

Dexter coughed and laughed. “No,” he said, through laughter, “No, I was just about to tell you about my plan for making myself less of a stranger.”

“Oh?” Sasha asked, eyebrows raised to match the corner of her lips.

“Yes,” Dexter said. “I want to take you out on a date. Like when we were younger.”

09-07-16_12-04-05-am

“Are you calling me old? Is a strange man in my house really calling me old right now?” Sasha loved teasing Dexter. It has always been one of her favorite things.

“Oh, my love, you are still young- but then, then you were younger. And so was I. We had a certain flexibility that we seem to have misplaced.”

Sasha wrapped him in a snug embrace. “I can help us find it again…” she whispered into his ear.

09-07-16_12-05-03-am

“And of course I’ll go out with you.” She said between kisses.

Chapter 5.53: Fish Are Not Friends

09-06-16_11-28-10-pm

Emil found himself spending a lot of time alone, even though he had an older sister and two cousins, a mom, and an aunt and uncle all living in the same house. He struggled to keep up with their conversations, because they were all so fast and sometimes really confusing. Mostly they were so serious.

Either that or they were about things he wasn’t interested in. And even though everyone made sure that he was taken care of, no one could find time to play pirate with him and everyone else was too tall to play on the monkey bars. His favorite person to play with was his cousin Beth, but he is certain his older sister has cooties and they are always together. “It isn’t worth risking infection,” Emil had thought to himself before sitting down to watch a movie with both of them.

So he found himself talking to the fish this afternoon for some companionship.

09-06-16_11-27-22-pm

“So, you see, I can’t possibly share popcorn with those two, because Belinda has cooties and I don’t want that!”

A pause, waiting for response.

“Um, uh…” he falters as he searches for something else to say that the fish may want to talk about. He scratches his eyebrow and an idea comes to him like lightning.

“Do you think Freezer Bunnies should really be promoting romantic relationships over any other kind of relationship? I think the being best friends is just as important and special, probably even BETTER, and maybe that dating service should change to a friendship finder!”

But the fish still didn’t respond. They just blew bubbles while floating along in the tank, staring off in the distance, as if Emil doesn’t even exist.

09-06-16_11-29-29-pm

“Fish are even worse conversationlists than teenagers…” Emil sighed.

Chapter 5.52: Delightfully Dexter

Dexter was deeply satisfied with his life. He was making great strides in the science career, he had two great kids and a niece and nephew that he loved, and he had been lucky enough to marry his best friend. His house was large and paid for, he had a fantastic relationship with his sister, and he even got to see his younger brother from time to time.

09-06-16_5-22-37-pm

He was walking through the foyer when he realized just how long it had been since he had taken his wife on a date, though. The kids were still children when they went on their last date, and Emil hadn’t even been born yet. Sasha’s hair was starting to go grey, and his own hair was starting to thin- he had to keep cutting it shorter and shorter to keep it looking sharp and clean.

Between the passion each of them shared for their careers, the schedules that were never quite in sync, and the kids Dexter and Sasha had been spending less time together. Even Sasha had pointed out the other morning at breakfast that she had been spending more time with his sister than with him.

Maybe I should have married Lou,” she joked, giving him a gentle kiss on the cheek as he prepared to leave for work.

Dexter smiled as he remembered how his wife’s lips felt on his cheek. He laughed when he remembered what she said after the kiss. “She doesn’t have any facial hair either.

But Dexter didn’t want to shave. He said that his facial hair was all of the hair that couldn’t stay on his head making a last attempt not to leave him behind completely. However, for Sasha, he would shave. If she asked him to. He even suggested it and she laughed and told him she was only teasing. She was getting used to the prickly scruff.

I would almost miss it,” she smiled.

Their most exciting conversations had turned into jokes about his facial hair.

At the next available time Dexter was going to take his beautiful wife out to dinner. He was going to make her feel 25 again.

Chapter 5.51: Rough Day

Is anyone even here?” Benson thought to himself as he waited outside of the legacy house, letting his mind drift. Beth had called him and invited him over, which he wasn’t about to pass up, but now no one was coming to the door.

07-27-16_11-20-39 AM

He wasn’t the most patient of sims, though, and felt his face morphing into an unpleasant scowl. “This house is so big they probably just can’t even hear the plumming doorbell…” he thought as he continued to wait.

07-27-16_11-20-37 AM

The youngest member of the Waite family lineage was in the backyard with his mom and Aunt Sasha. Emil was getting pretty great at playing pirate and Sasha and Lou were enjoying watching him play while they talked about their jobs.

“I wonder if I am going to keep being a secret agent after Reggie and I get married,” Lou mentioned to Sasha.

Sasha was shocked, “But you love your career! You should keep doing it.”

Lou sighed, “But I want to be able to spend plenty of time with Emil. He’s used to so much attention already, having grown up in this house with everyone… but when we move out Belinda will be an adult and possibly find a house of her own. Plus Reggie and I would be working, and Emil would be alone so much.”

“He is always welcome to come over here in the afternoons. It is right across the street and someone will most likely be here to spend time with him.” Sasha pointed out.

Lou smiled, “Thanks, Sash,” she said with a renewed chuckle. “I really don’t want to give up my job.”

“And you shouldn’t have to! Being a mom and a wife doesn’t mean you quit being yourself.”

Emil slid down the slide and walked over to his mom. “I think I have a splinter, mommy,” he whined, trying to keep from crying. He sniffled and Lou leaned down to give him a kiss on the cheek.

“We’ll make this better,” she soothed him.

“Should I go get the first aid kit so you can use tweezers?” Sasha asked.

08-11-16_10-54-09 AM

“We can go get it together, right Emil?” Lou said to Sasha, and asked her son.

Emil stood proudly and beamed. “Of course we can! We can do ANYTHING!” Ignoring the annoying pain of the splinter they walked into the house together, with Sasha walking behind them.

08-11-16_10-54-16 AM

Julius found Benson at the door when he went outside to meet Leah and Roxana, and let him in. But Benson was grumpy by that time and expressed that by saying, “It took long enough,” in a hissing voice as he brushed roughly past Julius’s shoulder.

Being with friends helped Julius to stay calm though, and he was particularly happy when Roxana showed up.

08-11-16_11-00-37 AM

The three of them were talking and looking at memes for a few minutes when Lizbeth walked over. “Is Ben here?” She asked Julius.

“Yeah, and he’s in a foul mood, too,” Julius said.

Leah, who was lost in her phone looked up. “He probably wouldn’t be in such a bad mood if someone had let him in when he got here.” She was defending her brother, which honestly most siblings would do. But she went too far where Julius is concerned when she gave dagger eyes to Lizbeth. “Lizzy shouldn’t have invited him if she wasn’t going to be back in time.”

“Hey! I can’t help it that I had to stay after class to get some math help from my teacher and missed the bus. Besides, I’m going by Beth now.”

Julius was feeling anger bubble up inside of him and when Leah rolled her eyes at his older sister he lost it. “I think it’s time for you to leave, Leah,” he growled and then turned away to stomp angrily into the house.

Lizbeth stood in shock and watched her brother go inside without stopping to look back, and then remembered that Ben was already inside.

08-11-16_11-01-20 AM

It was about this time that the backyard fire alarm started screaming out it’s angry wail that something was wrong and Lizbeth and Julius ran outside to find Lou putting out a fire in the grill. Belinda had been making dinner and it caught fire, freaking her out enough that she ran into the kitchen to get away from it while her mom bravely put it out.

She passed Julius and Lizbeth when she did.

08-11-16_11-01-47 AM

No one noticed that she managed to have a small flame still on her shirt, until she herself noticed in the kitchen rather quickly. Panic filled her heart and her eyes grew several sizes. She was on fire.

“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!”

Lou and Beth heard the scream and ran inside to help.

08-11-16_11-09-10 AM

Belinda, in her mind-dizzying panic tried to blow the fire out but obviously that was not very effective. Luckily there were two fire extinguishers in the large kitchen and her family was there to help out.

08-11-16_11-10-56 AM

“I am taking a shower. No one disturb me. Thank you for saving my life.” She said bitterly as she left the kitchen and walked toward the bathroom once the fire was extinguished.

08-11-16_11-43-28 AM

In the backyard Roxana was comforting Julius as they watched the clouds float through the sky. The sky was crisp and blue and the clouds were so fluffy it was as if you could reach out and hug them, each one taking a distinct shape. They weren’t thin and misty like they often are.

“You did the right thing,” Roxana said. “Sticking up for your sister, I mean.”

“Thanks,” Julius said with a gloomy smile. “I think so too.”

“Family is really important.”

08-11-16_11-20-15 AM

Beth found Benson in the office, checking out her dad’s science equipment. “I am so sorry,” she said as she walked over closer to him. “This day has not gone as I expected it to.”

“It’s alright, hon,” Ben said in a slithering and syrupy sweet voice. “I’ve been perfectly happy waiting for you.” He lied with a smile.

Beth frowned. “Julius said that you were in a bad mood.”

Julius laughed. “And you listened to him? That gloomy kid sees the bad in everything.” He looked deeply into her eyes. “I couldn’t be in a better mood. Well, I could be,” he said with a wink. “But let’s take things slow.” This was another lie. Benson knew all the lines.

08-11-16_11-48-26 AM

She showed him the meme that Ross had showed her and they both laughed.

08-11-16_11-48-58 AM08-11-16_11-49-04 AM

“How about you give me a hug for waiting so long, huh, princess?”

Beth started to feel sick to her stomach, but she thought it was butterflies. “Okay,” she chuckled nervously as she approached him for a hug.

08-11-16_11-49-48 AM

“But I’m warning you mister, don’t get used to being rewarded for so-called good behavior. I’m an independent woman and I do what I want. I have boundaries.” She scolded him sternly with a bit of play.

08-11-16_11-50-03 AM

“Of course, doll,” He acknowledged to try to prove he would actually take that to heart, and he closed the distance, wrapping her body up close to his. She felt warm and soft in his arms, and he didn’t want to resist her so he pressed up closer and lowered his hands.

Lizbeth took a sharp breath and whispered into his ear, “This is close enough. Boundaries, remember?”

He lifted his hands from her in a shrug, “Of course, of course,” he smiled a slimy smile that she took for genuine. “You’re just so irresistible.” His faux apology hit Beth’s ears and she faltered in a moment of self-doubt.

“Well, okay.”After all, she thought, I’ve known him since we were kids. He won’t do anything. She wrapped her arms around him and breathed in the scent of his perfect hair. She would give so much to hear him say that he loved her. Maybe someday he would.

08-11-16_11-50-55 AM

Belinda, who was freshly showered, was letting off steam in the yard with a round of practice in horseshoes. She felt personally defeated by messing up so badly with the grill and needed to prove that she could still do things. Her perfectionism was really deeply rooted in her personality.

She tossed the horseshoe and it landed perfectly around the stick poking up from the ground, a satisfying clang just before it spun around once and softly met the mulch.

08-11-16_11-51-54 AM

“YES!” She exclaimed proudly to herself. “I still have it!”

08-11-16_11-52-21 AM

Emil was walking with his new friend, Serena, and he could still smell the burnt smell and the smoke from the fire that Belinda had accidentally set earlier. His nose wrinkled and a frown settled into his brow, though he was happy to have someone to play with, and that his splinter was removed earlier.

08-11-16_11-52-45 AM

Roxana and Julius were still on the back deck having a wonderful time now that things had settled down around the legacy house. Roxana challenged Julius to a round of foosball to pull him out of his gloomy spell.

08-11-16_11-53-24 AM

It didn’t quite work. Julius was doubting just kicking Leah out like that. After all, she was defending her brother the way that Julius was defending his sister. Maybe he should have been more understanding. “I should have talked to her,” he sighed. “You know, been more mature about all of it…”

Roxana smiled at Julius. She knew what would work.

08-11-16_11-58-27 AM

“Remember when we were kids?” She asked Julius, he smiled and nodded. “I have some pretty funny pictures of us running around at the park on my phone. My mom sent some to me once I got a phone for my birthday.”

“We should definitely look at those!” Julius said excitedly, and Roxana pulled her phone from her pocket and handed it to him.

The two smiled and laughed at old photos for several minutes before Roxana finally decided to ride her bike home for the night. “Thanks for having me over, Jules.”

“Of course, Rox! Text me when you get home safely. It’s late.”

“As always!” She called back to him with a wave.

08-11-16_11-59-03 AM

Dexter was having a very late dinner when Julius walked into the kitchen to find a late-night snack. He started thinking about the day all over again and a cloud seemed to be hanging over Julius’s head.

Dexter, ever the observant one, always noticed everything and quickly picked up on his son’s mood. “What’s going on, pal?” He asked, trying to mask his own concern with a smile.

“I’m afraid I may have ruined a friendship today.” He said with a frown, his lower lip sticking out in a pout. Julius explained the events from earlier to his dad, who listened patiently until he was finished.

Dex absorbed everything for a few minutes before he began to speak again. “Well, son,” he cleared his throat. “I’m proud of you for sticking up for your sister. I know she can take care of herself, she’s strong like all of the women in this family, but family is important and it’s a good thing you want to keep the family safe. It’s possible you were a little heated and reacted too strongly, but this is all a part of learning and growing up. I rarely had intense and fast rage, because I’ve always been more of an over-analyzer, but your Aunt Lou, she had her outbursts for sure. And made people upset a lot. She’s grown a lot, and maybe you could talk to her about this stuff, to get an opinion from someone who understands really strong and fast emotions.”

He paused to give his son time to think.

“As for your friend, Leah,” he noticed that Julius started to hang his head. “She’ll probably calm down too. And it is uncool the way she behaved toward Lizbeth, but she is also growing and if you can both talk about it later I’m sure you will work it out and hang out together again soon. Leslie and Leah have been coming over since Lizz- I mean, Beth- started school.”

Julius sighed. “Everyone has bad days, huh?”

“We sure do, son.”

Chapter 5.50: Family Matters

“Y’know, Lou, we really are happy to have you stay,” Sasha was saying to Lou as she prepared a garden salad in the kitchen. “After all, this is your home. You have lived here for much longer than I have, you’re family, you contribute and help with all of the kids. It’s nice having you here.”

Lou chuckled at her sister-in-law’s enthusiasm for family. “I am still so glad that you and my brother found each other. You’re the best sister that I could have ever asked for.”

“I’m your only sister, actually,” Sasha added playfully.

“You’ve got a point!” Lou noted audibly. “I also know that I am welcome here as long as I want to stay, but eventually there will come a point when I need to leave and be with Reggie. Now that we’ve decided to get married, it makes sense that the kids and I would move in with him some day.”

Sasha nodded and Lou walked over to the island to sit down.

07-27-16_5-47-25 PM

“It seems like just yesterday our girls were born,” Lou mused nostalgically.

Sasha was putting the finishing touches on the salad when she came up with an idea. “Lou, there is plenty of room in this house for Reggie to move in.”

“He already has a house across the street. There is no sense in him packing his things to move over here when one of our daughters is possibly going to fall in love and want to live with someone in a few years.”

Sasha gasped. “There is NO way that either of our girls would decide to move in with someone so soon. They’re just kids.”

Lou shook her head, a bittersweet smile on her face. “Before we know it they will be twirling into their young adult years. And I’ve seen the way Belinda looks at that Aden boy. It’s the same way that you look at Dexter.”

07-27-16_5-47-43 PM

“I’m just saying that it’s a real possibility. A reality that we have to face. Our babies are growing up.” Lou shrugged, trying not to think about the possibility that her daughter might get her heart broken some day not far from now.

Sasha walked over to her sister-in-law. “Well, don’t grow them up too quickly. I’m not ready for any of that just yet.” Despite her hope that her daughter would stay young forever, she had a proud smile on her face.

Lou stood up and brushed off her skirt, and simply she said, “I’d better get ready for work. I would hate to be late!”

“Alright,” Sasha said, as she replaced her on the stool. It was then that Julius walked into the kitchen, giving Lou a high five as they passed.

07-27-16_5-47-54 PM

“Have a good day at work, Aunt Lou!” He called after her as she exited the kitchen and he sat down beside his mother.

Sasha smiled and waved, “Hi Julius!”

“Hey Ma!” He said, beaming. “It sure is a great day to be alive…”

07-27-16_10-11-29 AM

“I’m glad you think so! What has you in such a good mood?” Sasha asked.

Julius sighed. He thought about Roxana and her fiery red hair. “Just happy to be surrounded by such wonderful people. And to have such a great house!”

“For a gloomy sim you sure are full of gratitude.”

“Being gloomy has taught me to take pleasure in the small things,” he responded.

Sasha was the one who was beaming now. “That’s a BIG relief for a mother to hear!”

07-27-16_10-12-06 AM

“Speaking of BIG relief,” Julius added. “I’ll be having a even better day when I finish my homework.”

Sasha laughed as he placed a large book and notebook on the island counter and crossed his eyes at the instructions. His brow furrowed and his smile set itself into a mild frown.

“Ma,” he looked over at Sasha who hadn’t gotten up yet.

“Yes, son?”

“Do you think you could help me with my algebra homework?”

She laughed, “Of course, sweetheart!”

Chapter 5.49: So Perfect I Could Vomit

07-27-16_3-44-11 PM

“I have an idea!” Belinda proclaimed from in the fountain and standing across from Aden. Without pausing she kicked her foot through the water and watched as a stream of water made contact with Aden’s formerly dry sweater.

Aden, shocked, shouted jokingly. “Hey!”

“Oh come on,” Belinda chuckled. “Let’s have a little IRL fun.”

The two of them went to town with their splash-nanigans until they couldn’t quite see because of the water in their eyes.

“You started it!” Aden laughed a full-belly laugh as he kicked water at Belinda.

Belinda feigned horror as she leaned back to avoid the most intense sections of the splash. She smiled, revealing her oddly perfect pearly whites, “But I’m a lady,” she teased. “Ladies are allowed to change their mind.”

“That’s true. Everyone does reserve the right to change their mind,” Aden agreed.

Belinda was still smiling. “I did enjoy having a splash war with you, though. And I will for sure tell you, very seriously, if I’m ever uncomfortable with anything.”

Aden took a seat on the fountain, worn out from all of the fun. “Good!”

Belinda joined him and they looked up at the moon together.

“It was nice, y’know,” Belinda said, looking at him fondly. “Doing something together that was offline.”

“It was,” Aden suggested, closing his eyes. “Definitely.”

The moon seemed to be reflecting off of the water in a most magical way, and Belinda felt herself trying not to swoon. “I still have a blast kicking your plumb at every game we try, though!” She said with a laugh.

“It’s not even shocking anymore.” Aden added, “Because you’re perfect.” He opened his eyes and their stares caught each other.

Belinda cleared her throat, and shook herself out of the trance she was falling into. “Oh, puh-leeze. That’s some vomit-worthy Harlequin nonsense right there! I’m going to sleep, A.” But as she stood up to leave she couldn’t deny the butterflies in her stomach and the pitter-patter of her heart beating faster in her chest.

“Goodnight, B.” Aden called after her, before turning to walk to his parked car and drive home. Maybe, someday, they’d make this romance official and go on a date. For now he was just glad to spend as much time as possible with such a wonderfully dorky, beautiful, perfect girl.

Chapter 5.48: What Do You See in Him?

“Hey Ross!” Lizbeth greeted her best friend, outside of Belinda of course, at the door. She was really excited to see him.

Ross was excited to, since he had been on vacation for the past two weeks and had missed Julius’s birthday. But if we’re being honest, the birthday party was not all that he had missed. He had been missing Lizbeth the entire time.

He smiled at her.

“Hi Beth,” he said, allowing his lips to form the shape of what she wanted to be called now. “I’ve missed you!” It was unfamiliar and more grown-up, tricky to get used to, but it also felt right. “That feels good to say,” Ross added. “Beth.”

“You’ve been gone a whole two weeks and you’re getting all tongue-tied over a simple change in nickname preference?” She faux scolded him.

He laughed, “I have a new meme I want to show you!”

Ross pulled out his phone and showed her the latest meme he had found on Simblr. She tried her hardest not to laugh, but ultimately the meme got the best of her and she was holding her stomach to keep from falling backwards.

Ross felt himself surge with warmth and joy at the sight of her smile. He looked at her as if she were a gift unto the world, which as far as he was concerned, she was.

“I knew you would like it!”

She was still laughing. “I do! OH MY GOD!”

“What is it?” Ross asked, curiosity getting the best of him before she could keep talking.

“Benson would totally love this too!” She exclaimed, settling back into another fit of giggles. When she opened her eyes again Ross wasn’t laughing with her anymore. He looked a bit sullen, and his shoulders were hunched forward.

“What is it, Ross?” She asked him, sadness creeping onto her face too.

“I just don’t understand what you see in that guy,” Ross grumbled, rolling his eyes.

Beth frowned. “He’s really cute, and he and his family have been friends with our family since we were just kids. Plus, I think he might think I’m cute too, and he might ask me out!”

“But he’s such a jerk!” Ross cut in, redness in his cheeks and tension in his shoulers.

Beth felt herself getting heated, so she grounded herself into the floor. “Look, Ross, you’re my best friend. I love you! I do. But I don’t know why you get so bent out of shape every time I bring up Benson, especially if he comes around. I don’t know if I can keep spending time with you if you can’t support me.”

Ross deflated, feeling rejected. “I’ll just never understand it, Beth,” he sighed, looking at her with fading hope. “He doesn’t appreciate you. Not really.”

“That’s for me to decide, Ross.” She said this matter-of-factly, without much gusto.

Ross simply nodded. “You’re right. I’m sorry.”

But neither of them were laughing anymore.
