“Hey little Julius,” Leland whispered to his newest grandchild. “I’m your grandpa. And I’ve made a lot of mistakes.”
“I’ve been awful to your Aunt Lou, never realizing how my actions have impacted her. She’s always been so tough…” Leland paused to look up. “But I know now that she was not the vessel for my anger and mean-spirit. I’m going to do my best to avoid treating you this way, for all of the rest of the days of my life. If I’m lucky enough to even live to experience any of your childhood.”
Aw…this is really great. The poor man–at least he realizes things now. Maybe he can talk to Lou before it’s too late!
