Chapter 5.39: Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story?

Let’s take a look back through the lives of Leland Waite and Meya Waite (née Valmer).

Leland was born, the youngest of generation 4, and the youngest of a set of twin boys. Brené holds him with pride and shock in her eyes, as she was not expecting two babies.

Leland was a cheerful child, with lots of energy.

He developed a razor sharp tongue as a teenager. He also met the love of his life in his teen years.

He met Meya Valmer at the park. She was sassy enough to handle his sharp tongue, and her platinum blonde hair and blue eyes caught his eye.

Her energy and optimism caught his heart.

He argued with his grandfather, Alexander, nearly every time that he came to visit from beyond the grave. They did not see eye to eye.

Meya never did put up with his harshness without giving some of her own back.

They got married after discovering that Meya was pregnant with their first child.

Leland was devastated to learn that Elaina, his older sister, would be leaving the legacy house.

He and Meya wore matching pajamas. (This was unplanned)

Leland had a soft spot for Dexter, his oldest son. in fact, throughout his entire his Dexter is the only person that he never said an unkind word to.

Meya made certain that their other two children, Lou and Landen, also felt loved in the legacy house, despite Leland’s tendency to ignore or belittle them.

She made sure that they knew how incredible they were.

They had dinners full of laughter.

And Leland and Meya always seemed to have similar haircuts.
