“I’ll wait here and see which way the wind will blow,…”
A quiet storm blew in, not long after the loss of Meya. Leland had walked into Dexter and Sasha’s room, looking to see if either one was there so that he could tell them the news.
They weren’t there.
But Grim was there.
And he was waiting for Leland.
Someone else came in looking for Sasha, to ask about plans for Lizzy’s and Belinda’s birthday.
Lou didn’t find Sasha.
Lou found her father on the floor and Grim standing above his body.
She was not prepared.
It felt as though the roof was caving in onto her.
Particularly when Grim told her that Leland was joining her mother, who had already died.
“They are trying to do the unimaginable…”
“There are moments that the words don’t reach,…”
“There’s a grace too powerful to name,…”
“I didn’t get to make things better with my father, yet.” Lou pleaded.
“Well,” Grim responded. “You’ll have to find a way without his physical form here. I’m taking him.”
“We push away what we can never understand,
We push away the unimaginable,…
Forgiveness, can you imagine,
Forgiveness, can you imagine?”
